kochi Day 5.

We went to Mattecheri to see the Dutch palace and synagogue. THERE is a museum  in the Dutch palace and nothing much. THE Synagogue is a very old Jewish temple. I have never seen a jewish temple ,so it was new to me.

What was interesting to me was nearby antique market. I bought a marble elephant at Rs 600.

Then we went to Fort Kochi to see  ST. FRANCIS CHURCH. It was a very old church.

Then we went to edapally at vypin Island to see a kerala museum. There was a doll’s museum  exhibiting dolls from all over the world.

Then we saw a light and sound show showing the history of kerala from B.C. era to present day. It was good.

Conference started. And i went there in the workshop. This I was the worst workshop i have ever seen.  IT showed videos of operation and no live operation. undoubtedly the worst.  The food was also the the worse.

I also shifted to Dream cochin a 5 star Hotel. But food quality is poor. Rooms are good, well furnished, two plasma tv. My room no is 1407.

We went to hill palace. It was on top of a hillock.  There are many royal (of Cochin And Travancore) belongings there.  They wont allow any camera, mobile inside the museum. We have to take off your shoes before entering it but it is well maintained and clean. so no problem in walking barefoot.

In the evening we went for a cruise along the backwater. It was very good. Once  the boat came to shallow water and nearly turned over. we have our hearts in our mouth. otherwise it was a very good experience. one can see all the main islands and their anatomy from the water. Tall buildings lining the costal margins is a treat to see.

we came to kochi day before yesterday. I really couldnot manage time and space to write my daily blog.

We boarded the train at Shalimar. It is a new station near howrah. It was AC 3 tier coach. there was another family travelling with us in the same coup. We had a great time with them, Their teen aged daughters managed Aheli.

We got down at Ernakulam Station. Car was waiting at the station. they brought us to Hotel International. It is not a five star hotel but a small hotel with all good facilities like central AC , bah tubs, carpetted floor ( and a few mosquitoes too).

it is quite hot in kochi. It is near xmas and nobody is requiring warm clothes. we are travelling in Ac car and AC is on in the room.

On site seeing on day one, we were pretty disappointed. There is not much to see. We went to a Jew synagogue but it was closed. We went to fort Kochi. We saw Chinese fishing Nets there. Aheli and I was bitten by wasp while trying taking a photo. We went to Marine Drive. And we had a walk there. Lot of Boating facilities are there. Then we came back and had a lunch in the hotel.

In the evening we went to Cherai beach. It was a long beach. Many people were taking a bath there. WE stayed there for about 3 hours.

we enjoyed the beach and it resemblance with puri  beach.

what is waiting for me?

Eagerly waiting for the interview result. I supposed to get promoted and if I get the posting in BMCH, It will be the perfect icing on cake.

How I wish to get promoted and transferred , so that I can settle down!

Results are going to be out this week or the next.

Dr s b saha who was trying to be a good samaritan, finally proved old habits die hard, He again tried to finger my backside when I opted to go to Rampurhat on a  sunday. Bad man.

Downwards private practice

I am having a hard time as I am not getting good practice. November and December are dull months as for as the practice. This year it is actually affecting me.

I appeared in the interview for assistant professor. Dr Bitan Chatterjee was the examiner. He bomberded a few question Which I could barely answer.

Aheli annaprasan was celebrated with Lot of enthusiasm. About 45 thousand was spent. Al ot of things were wasted.

Om caterer Rampurhat was appointed for this. About 250 guests were expected. Around 240 was there. Lot of things were wasted.

MES frustration

The only bad thing is not getting promotion in due time. Some incompetent SC/ST is moving up the ladder.

It is not that I am not enjoying my job as RMO, but some new lists of AP come out , and I do not find my name there, my heart burns. Life is like that. I know there are snakes also in this snake and ladder game of life. Those people has gone up by ladder(SC/ST), snakes will definitely pull them back in life.

May GOD bless everybody. This time HE may start with me.

thrashed PGT (Ajoy)

One of the PGT  became undisciplined I Had to put reins on him. he used to come late. And work less without any involvement. I gave him lifetime thrashing.

Someone in Rampurhat needs a rough treatment.

Achieving MES goals.

When I joined MES I Set UP a few goals for me. They were here.

What I have achieved

1. Learnt to do lap as soon as possible.____ I am trying  but a lot depends on the good will of Dr S B Saha

2. Do all the operation upto my satisfaction. ___ AS far as open operations are concerned --- YES

3. Try to be a good teacher.---- Again efforts are on.

4. I shall perform only low risk operation in Rampurhat._____ That I do.

Fast

I am on a fast today, not in support of Mr Anna hazare but as a mean to reduce weight. I like to do that twice in a month--- in full moon and in no moon. Let me see if I can do it and if it helps the cause.

locals vs outsiders

In BSMC outsider doctors stay for 3 to 4 days . They shoulder the main burden. Locals just because they stay there for seven days never stop complaining. On last friday DR S S Roychowdhury had hot exchange with Dr SB Saha. Dr Saha was heckled like anything. I am sorry to say but I thoroughly enjoyed this.

3. HOD creates some tension for you as he is a frustrated fellow

4. Your coworkers may not like the idea of your practice.  They will disturb you.

5. MCI, the unknown demon will come from time to time to disturb your rhythm
